Why A Long Weekend Is The Best

So many of us don’t have the money to go on long holidays anymore, and a lot of people opt for the “staycation” approach. But what about those people that can’t afford any sort of holiday? We are overworked, underpaid, and as such, the only thing we can really afford to do is a four-day weekend on occasion. When you think about the great things that the UK has, bank holidays are, undoubtedly, one of them. Why are long weekends really the best?

Moving At Your Own Pace

If you have Friday to Monday off, there’s that wonderful realisation that you’re not back in work until Tuesday, and this means that you can go wild, let your hair down, and you’ve got a long time to recover from it! But at the same time, you don’t need to cram your four days full of death-defying activities. You can take it leisurely, and do a couple of things, but also give yourself the opportunity for downtime. You could very easily go go for brunch on Friday morning, and then not do anything for the rest of the day. So, you can have Saturday be an eventful day, but then Sunday can be your day for rest. And then, you’ve got Monday for you to relax before it’s back to life and back to reality.

You Can Have That Inclination To Splurge

Perhaps one of the best things about having a four day weekend is the fact that you feel that you can spend a little bit more money. You might not be able to afford holidays in the Algarve, but you can certainly splash out on a nice Winsor Bishop watch that sparkles, and make it a present to yourself for working so hard recently. While you may not have the money to go for a two week holiday somewhere, a four day holiday in a place you know, and you’ve got a little bit of cash left over, can mean that you can purchase a few home comforts. Using these four days as a way to get back in touch with yourself when you’re so busy means you should feel that inclination to buy a few things that make you happy.

Catching Up With Those You Love

You’ve got four days off, and the world is your oyster. And if you are one of those busy career-minded people, four days can seem like a lifetime in which to get back in touch with people. It doesn’t have to be anything major, just go for a coffee, or spend an afternoon relaxing in the park. These things are priceless. And the great thing is that they don’t cost much money at all! Taking the opportunity to catch up with those people that you really do care about, especially when you don’t see them much, gives you that time and space to relax and get back to basics.

A long weekend is really the best. You don’t need to go abroad to have a great time, and you don’t need to go far at all. Make the most of your holidays and book a few long weekends, you won’t regret it!
